Dutch 5 Step Foot Trimming Course- To receive a certificate of competence to trim cows feet on your own farm
8.45am for 9am start – 4pm each day
The course is very practical, please wear appropriate clothing for working outdoors with cows. You will be provided with overalls and wellington boots. Lunch will be provided on both days.

Group size maximum 6 persons
3 crushes available for practical foot trimming, delegates work in pairs
After successful completion of the course delegates will receive a certificate of competence
Details of the course are below
10am-Aims and objectives; what do candidates want to achieve? Establish knowledge level. Theory of 5 step Dutch method/ Anatomy of the claw
11am -Demonstrations of 5 step method. Candidates to start foot trimming coached and supervised by trainer
1.15pm- Candidates to continue foot trimming coached and supervised by trainer
9am-Recap on day 1’s progress, what then needs to be covered in day 2
10.20am -Anatomy of the claw/diseases and ailment recognition/lameness
10.45am Candidates foot trimming coached and supervised by trainer (day 2 practical focus on problem feet)
1.15pm Continue with trimming practical work and training
3.30pm- Recap on both days, both theory and practical, have all candidates achieved their set objectives?
